Art is not dead. Internet and reproduction have not change the situation, because the phenomen of sampling or copy existed always - in the Middle Ages, Renaissance and later on.
The difference is only quantitative; now nearly everybody has the financial and social possibility to "try to be an artist", so it is only technically more difficult to notice contemporary Fra Angelico, "Bosch" or Hopper among us.
More than ever art should try to change the world for better - like litterature or journalism; of course not being insipidly "engaged" like socrealistic art was, but simply - taking the responsability, like for example "Entartete Kunst" did it - warning us of a danger of the rise of nazism in Germany.
At present - is much more to do!
