It has taken me a while to answer you ever since I last had you on the telephone. The thing is, my Server has caused me innumerable troubles during the last two weeks.................. Despite it all, I've been thinking about your project "NO MILK TODAY" and herewith I send you my proposal which is called : "The ElectricVentilator" ©1999. So, as I understand, what you want to underline with "NO MILK TODAY" is a number of issues which symbolically arise from this ancient indian ritual of the "shaking of milk". I reflected upon this topic and the part of it which I found most interesting it is the one which deals with the infinite sense of the "good and evil". Indeed, it seems that however primordial this matter may be, it still undoubtly feed our need for giving to it an effective and resolute explanation............................... [....GOOD & EVIL....] It is like trying to categorize things/happenings in order to make a clear distinction between that which is the produce of the "abominable" and that which comes as a result of the "favorable". An elementary process, we construct, which openly explains our inability of coming to terms with an issue like this, which probably wants no interpretations. "Actions_reactions justify each other" Since I'd be interested in stressing this point which I made above, I thought of proposing a very minimal operation for "No Milk Today". I don't quite remember if I ever visited this place called Mistra at la Giudecca in Venezia. But I believe that this must be a normal public meeting place.........right ? Well, I'd like to install up to the ceiling of this place an "electricVentilator" with blades which turns around and moves the air very gently (the kind of ceiling-ventilators that one usually sees in hot countries.....). The only difference is that this "electricVentilator" has fixed on its middle a small device which at irregular intervals blows a mild jet of warm air, (can you imagine that happening indoor in Venezia during the summer time...?) I guess this may basically suggest the intrinsic co-existence of opposite systems within other systems..........[etc....] So Lino, this is my proposal which I hope you will find compatible with your project.

Caro Lino Polegato,

come da te richiesto, ecco la nuova versione in Italiano del "The ElectricVentilator" ©1999 proposta per "NO MILK TODAY". Mi sembra di capire che quello che tu hai intenzione di sottolineare con questo progetto, è la simbolica questione che viene sollevata dal vecchio rito indiano della sbattitura del latte. Ho riflettuto su questo argomento e la parte di esso che ho trovato piuÕ interessante è quella che fa riferimento al senso infinito del cosiddetto "Male e Bene". Infatti per quanto primordiale questÕambivalenza possa essere, indubbiamente ancora riesce a nutrire il nostro bisogno di dare ad essa unÕeffettiva e risoluta esplicazione. "Good & Evil" Due elementi ben chiari e distinti, sebbene solo in apparenza. Infatti questa distinzione nasce, a mio avviso, dalla nostra innata attitudine a voler categorizzare "cose/eventi". Un metodo, che indubbiamente definirei "scientifico", e che ci facilita a creare una netta distinzione tra ci— che Ž il prodotto dellÕAbominevole e quello invece che deriva dal (?) benevole e/o favorevole. ƒ chiaro che, attraverso la costruzione di un sistema cos’ elementare fatto di categorie, lÕuomo dimostra la sua inabilit‡ a convivere con questo dilemma. Un dilemma che molto probabilmente non richiede alcuna interpretazione univoca, ne tanto meno assoluta. "Azione - Reazione, giustificano lÕun lÕaltro" Quello che quindi intenderei mettere in luce con la mia proposta Ž la semplice dimostrazione di come due fattori che si contrastano, sia in teoria che in pratica, possano (....anzi necessitano) di co-esistre allÕinterno dello stesso sistema. Se non altro proprio per affermare quella loro contrastante identit‡. Per "NO MILK TODAY", vorrei operare con un intervento minimale. Non ricordo di aver mai visitato questo posto chiamato Mistra alla Giudecca di Venezia, ma comunque immagino che questo sia piœ o meno un comune punto di incontro pubblico, dove probabilmente la gente si incontra durante momenti e per ragioni varie della giornata.(?) "The ElectricVentilator blows gently................" Quello che vorrei fare, è installare un ventilatore elettrico da soffitto. (Il tipico sistema a 4 eliche che in genere si usa negli ambienti fumosi e caldi e che spesso si trova proprio in paesi come lÕIndia). Il ventilatore Ž provvisto di un dispositivo applicato al suo centro che, ad intervalli irregolari, soffia un lieve getto di aria calda verso il basso della sala......... (immagina il leggero fastidio che un simile attrezzo pu— causare nei momenti in cui uno desidera essere sottratto dalla noiosa afa estiva veneziana......) Quindi Lino, questa Ž la mia proposta che spero sia compatibile allÕinterno del tuo progetto. Io comunque penso di andare a Venezia verso la fine di giugno. Se puoi, fammi sapere presto cosa fare........................
